How to start
Un familiar arma el tablero. La persona que comunica solo abre categorías y toca.
A family member builds the board. The person who communicates only opens categories and taps.

Al abrir la app por primera vez, un familiar crea un PIN de 4 dígitos y entra al Modo Familiar.

Emergencies in red
Una categoría recomendada para dolor, malestar o pedir a mamá o a papá. Si se llama «Urgencias» o «Emergency», tiene atajo.
A recommended category for pain, distress, or asking for mom or dad. Named “Urgencias” or “Emergency”, it gets a shortcut.

Si grabas audio, suena ese. Si no, el teléfono lee la etiqueta. Volumen y velocidad se ajustan en Ajustes.

Ves qué se tocó y cuándo. Exportas un archivo para llevar el tablero a otro teléfono. El historial y el PIN no van en la copia.
See what was tapped and when. Export a file to move the board to another phone. History and the PIN are not in the backup.
Cotorra no diagnostica ni sustituye una terapia. Es un tablero de apoyo para comunicar donde haga falta — en casa, en la escuela o de salida — hecho con las fotos y las palabras de la vida cotidiana.
Cotorra does not diagnose or replace therapy. It is a support board for communicating wherever it is needed — at home, at school, or out — made from the photos and words of everyday life.

¿Hace falta internet o una cuenta? Do I need internet or an account?
No. La app funciona sin conexión y no pide registro. Las fotos y las voces se quedan en el teléfono.
No. The app works offline and does not ask you to sign up. Photos and voices stay on the phone.
¿Quién arma el tablero? Who builds the board?
Un familiar, en el Modo Familiar. Crea el PIN al abrir la app por primera vez. Para volver a entrar, toca el logo de Cotorra 3 veces e introduce el PIN de 4 dígitos.
A family member, in Family Mode. They create the PIN the first time the app opens. To go back in, tap the Cotorra logo 3 times and enter the 4-digit PIN.
¿Y si una tarjeta no tiene foto? What if a card has no photo?
Funciona igual: se ve el color de la categoría y la inicial. El teléfono puede leer la etiqueta. La foto se puede añadir después.
It still works: you see the category color and the initial. The phone can read the label. You can add the photo later.
¿Qué voz suena? Which voice plays?
Si grabaste audio, suena esa voz. Si no, la voz del sistema lee la etiqueta.
If you recorded audio, that voice plays. If not, the system voice reads the label.
¿Dónde quedan las fotos y las voces? Where do photos and voices stay?
En el almacenamiento privado de la app, en ese teléfono. El desarrollador no las recibe.
In the app’s private storage on that phone. The developer does not receive them.
¿Cómo hago una copia del tablero? How do I back up the board?
Desde el Modo Familiar exportas un archivo .cotorra. No está cifrado: trátalo como contenido de la familia. Al restaurarlo, ese tablero se sustituye. El historial y el PIN no van en la copia: en ese teléfono se crea un PIN nuevo.
From Family Mode you export a .cotorra file. It is not encrypted: treat it as family content. Restoring replaces that board. History and the PIN are not in the file: on that phone you create a new PIN.
Olvidé el PIN. ¿Qué hago? I forgot the PIN. What now?
No hay recuperación por correo. Si tienes una copia .cotorra: desinstala la app, instálala de nuevo, crea un PIN nuevo y restaura el respaldo. El tablero vuelve; el PIN no viaja en la copia.
There is no email recovery. If you have a .cotorra copy: uninstall the app, install it again, create a new PIN, and restore the backup. The board comes back; the PIN is not in the file.
¿Sirve fuera de casa? Does it work away from home?
Sí. En casa, en la escuela o de salida: no depende de la red.
Yes. At home, at school, or out: it does not depend on the network.
